1. Who is responsible for your data
The controller of the personal data collected through showreel.pt is Show Reel – Aluguer de Equipamento Audiovisual, Lda., a company registered in Portugal under tax number (NIF) 506561631, with registered office at Trav. Part. à Rua da Centieira, 6, 1800-300 Lisbon, Portugal.

We process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”) and Portuguese Law no. 58/2019 of 8 August.
2. The data we collect
We only collect the data we need to deal with your requests:
- Quote request form: your name, company or production company, email, phone number, the service you need (equipment, studios, production rooms, vehicles or generators) and any description or equipment list you send us.
- Direct contact: the details you give us when you call, email us or get in touch through social media.
- Technical data: for security reasons, the server that hosts the website logs data such as your IP address, the date and time of access and your browser type.
We do not ask for or process special categories of data, such as health data. The website does not currently use any visitor analytics or advertising tools.
3. How we use your data and on what legal basis
- Replying to your request and preparing a quote: based on the consent you give in the form and on the pre-contractual steps you asked us to take (Article 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).
- Carrying out the rental of equipment, studios, production rooms, vehicles or generators, including logistics, delivery and collection: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Invoicing, accounting and tax obligations: compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
- Website security and abuse prevention: Show Reel’s legitimate interest in keeping the website secure (Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not use your data to send newsletters or marketing campaigns without your prior consent. We do not make automated decisions or carry out profiling.
4. How long we keep your data
- Quote requests that did not lead to a rental: up to 2 years after the last contact, so that we can follow up on your request.
- Customers: for the duration of the business relationship and, after that, for the periods required by law, in particular 10 years for invoicing and accounting records.
- Server logs: for as long as needed to keep the website secure, usually a few weeks.
Once these periods end, the data is deleted or anonymised.
5. Who we share your data with
Your data is handled by the Show Reel team dealing with your request, in particular our rentals department. Only where necessary, it may also be accessed by:
- the company that hosts and maintains the website, acting as a processor on our behalf and bound by confidentiality;
- our email and accounting service providers;
- public authorities, where required by law.
We do not sell your data or pass it on to third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is processed within the European Union.
6. Cookies and third party services
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. The Show Reel website only uses technical cookies that it needs to work, for example to remember the language you chose or to keep the site administrators logged in. These cookies are not used to identify you or for advertising.
The homepage shows a Google Maps map with our location. The map only loads when you scroll close to that part of the page and, from then on, Google may collect data such as your IP address and use its own cookies, in line with Google’s privacy policy. Links to our Instagram take you off this website, where Instagram’s own rules apply.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
7. Your rights
At any time and free of charge, you can:
- access your data and find out how it is used;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict processing, or object to it;
- ask for the data you gave us in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent, without affecting processing carried out before that.

8. Security
The website always uses a secure connection (HTTPS). Access to the requests we receive is limited to the people who handle them, and the website and its data are backed up regularly. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access or disclosure.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website or to the law. The date of the latest update is always shown at the top of this page. This policy covers both the Portuguese and the English versions of the website; if they differ, the Portuguese version prevails. The rules for using the website are set out in our Terms and Conditions.
